jacket back

This one took surprisingly a long time to sketch and render. Just can't get the back right.

work in progress

finished the normal map of my model. Had hickups with zbrush but I managed to finish it ok.
I just need to work on the diffuse.
But that will have to wait a bit. I 've picked up a freelance gig this week.

Semi Auto design

Roughed out gun design. Can't have a first person shooter without a gun.

Pistol Design. With a brushed steel finish and rubber stipple grip, my attempt at a clean minimal looking design. I didn't want it to look like a plastic toy (glock), nor did I want it festooned with lines. Simple and sharp looking, a precisely manufactured item. The interesting feature is the trigger guard. Rather than a proper safety, the trigger guard IS the safety, lol. It swivels and acts as a cover for the trigger so there's no way for the trigger to get depressed. Internally of course the firing pin can still be triggered independent of the trigger with a good jolt, hence the trigger guard when flipped also internally safes the firing pin.

The 9mm round is a variable explosive round. What's a variable explosive round? Well, see the nipple on the tip of the round. Within the nipple is a secondary charge. When the bullet impacts a hard target, the secondary charge in the nipple detonates the main charge within the bullet, causing the bullet to explode, maximizing energy transfer into the target. This highly directional exothermic reaction is capable of penetrating most forms of kevlar and personal ballistic plate armour. Against soft targets such as human flesh, obviously the nipple is not triggered and the round behaves like a standard 9mm parabellum round.

Roughed out a jacket design. It looks decidedly men's wear, like a biker jacket. The collar is too wide, probably fix it for the final version.

Competed Ship design

Finished version. Below are the steps
Diffuse Map, Specular Map and Normal Maps applied.

Diffuse and Normal Maps applied.

Roughed out a fast hair job to check out the character in full.

Side view with the front. She's looking a bit like an alien with those bug eyes and bald head. My friend wants a Eurasian look, whatever that means, not sure if I've captured it successfully.

fighter plane

Latest version above. Normal maps applied... althought the side (small wings) arn't showing the normal maps very well.. but its not a big deal. I will accent them when apply the diffuse texture on to it.

A quick render with lighting. Not a lot of visual progress on this model. I've spent time on just unwrapping and preping it for texture mapping. I'll be doing a pass on normap mapping, and then the actual texture itself.

.Here's a pic of the concept and a 3d model I just finished (untextured).
