speeder bike WIP

Was booting around the web on the weekend and came across a schematic of the Return of the Jedi speeder bikes used by the Imperial Scouts on the planet Endor (see second image). I personally love this design and pretty much all of Colin Cantwell's designs from the original Star Wars trilogy (X-wings, Tie fighters, AT-ATs, etc.). The speeder bike is truely out of the box thinking. A quick google search of speeder or hover bike designs will yield a rather awful range of concepts that look like motorcycles without wheels. I decided I could do no better so I took Cantwell's speeder bike design and ran with it as a fun weekend exercise. I will certainly expand these initial sketches into 3/4 views and more polished detail.

Was a little bored in LA and made a few sketches for an informal creative group at work. Theme was transportation. Anyways, I came back and made these images.
